Thriftwood School Lead
We are looking for a dedicated school leader with a passion for ensuring that all of our pupils have every opportunity to succeed in school and are prepared for life as they move on.
Thriftwood School & College is an outstanding, inclusive and forward-thinking specialist academy for young people aged 5-19. We now have a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint a School Lead, who will be based at the School site, leading and overseeing the provision for pupils aged between 7-14. The School is set in beautiful, mature grounds in the heart of Galleywood, on the outskirts of Chelmsford, yet within easy reach of the A12. It enjoys its own wildlife, horticultural and Forest School areas, a number of play and development environments including a sand barn, soft play zone and gym trail and offers specialist classrooms and facilities for cookery, art, PE and music therapy.
The School and College both have an excellent reputation locally, and beyond, and Thriftwood has been graded by Ofsted as being ‘Outstanding’ for a number of years. Key to this sustained success has been a committed team of staff, working together to provide the best possible education for each individual pupil. Thriftwood’s ethos is built on positive relationships, good communication, recognising and celebrating achievement and mutual support.
Thriftwood is part of SEAX Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust comprising five SEND schools across Essex. The Trust is well respected within the Essex Local Authority and has a single-minded ambition to constantly progress and develop, so that no limits are placed on the achievements of its young people.
This is a very exciting time for Thriftwood, as it continues to develop and enhance all aspects of its provision and offers you an outstanding opportunity to develop your career in an outward-looking organisation. The new School Lead will work closely with the Executive Headteacher, College Lead, Trust CEO and other senior staff to steer further developments, whilst also working strategically to support the needs of a growing and increasingly complex cohort in the area.
